FUZE Technologies has just revealed the release date for its coding platform FUZE4 for the Nintendo Switch.

FUZE4 will be live on the Nintendo eShop the 30th of August and will include thousands of game assets in the form of 2D pixel art sprites, sprawling isometric landscapes, platform blocks and characters, RPG player graphics, 3D models, sound effects and music files.

“After a number of delays and a rigorous testing process we’re thrilled to have received the final Nintendo stamp of approval,” said Jon Silvera, FUZE managing director, “now you can make your own games on Nintendo Switch in the comfort of your own bedroom!”

Aspiring programmers will be able to share their projects on fuzearena.com and to join development teams to work together on gaming projects.

The new platform has been created by a team of gamers, programmers, artists, and educators with the goal of producing the ideal environment for coding games and apps for both absolute beginners and seasoned programmers.

“FUZE4 Nintendo Switch represents a fantastic opportunity to help address the digital skills gap.” Said Ian Livingstone CBE – Founder Games Workshop, Director Sumo Group.

“Teaching coding from a gaming perspective is sure to enthuse, inspire and motivate young people and provide them with a valuable life skill, imperative to the future digital landscape,” he added.

Through the coding platform, programmers will be able to create a variety of apps, from text-based adventures to 2D shoot-’em-ups, dungeon crawlers to solitaire, Minecraft style adventures, 3D space exploration and more.

The application will be available starting August 30th across Europe, the USA and other English-speaking territories for £29.99 in the UK, $39.99 in the US and  €34.99 in Europe.
