Some latest rumors have spread with more details on the status of the villains in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to a report from Comic Book Movie, the plan for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is to keep the villain count pretty low. The main focus of the story is the “ideological differences” between Batman and Superman. This makes sense since this is the title of the movie after all.

The rumor also suggests some popular Superman villains will not be appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice because of the focus being on the two title characters. The Batman vs Superman fight is the focal point of the movie. As you have seen from the recent trailer, they didn’t show any other characters. Although we did hear Lex Luthor’s voice.

It also suggests that Lex Luthor (in battle armor) is the only main physical villain in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the part where “rumor” takes its place. Even I don’t think Jessie Eisenberg in battle armor is the only villain in the movie. I feel at least one other villain should be in the film.

Although the part about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice having a low villain count still sounds credible. After all, the movie already has a large cast. They are probably saving the bigger villains for the two Justice League movies that will be out in the next few years.

Do you think Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has more villains other than Lex Luthor or is the movie all about the two title characters only?

Update: Film insider, Umberto Gonzalez, said on a podcast that the villains for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are Lex Luthor and Doomsday. Doomsday is the “muscle” of the movie. Gonzalez speaks about it on the 38 minute mark of the podcast. He’s usually reliable as he broke lots of comic book movie news in the past.
