Billy Dee Williams who played Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back is unsure if he’ll reprise the role in Star Wars: Episode 8.
He said: “I do not know the reason. I think the character of Lando just didn’t fit into the story line. I saw the movie and loved it and can see why Lando wasn’t in it. If they asked me to come back for Episode VIII I would love to do it but right now I have not been asked and I do not know their plans.”
There was a rumor a few months back that Lando Calrissian would be featured in Star Wars: Episode 8. Unless of course Billy Dee Williams has been offered a role, and is not allowed to talk about it yet.
Filming for the next movie does not start until 2016. Hopefully he gets a role in the film as Lando Calrissian has always been popular among fans.
