Going under the knife is not an unusual occurrence in the Kardashian-Jenner household. This time on, the family matriarch underwent the procedure to correct a medical impediment. During Thursday’s episode of her family reality show, Kris Jenner dealt with the sad realization that she needed hip replacement surgery.

The episode followed the momager as she made her way to her appointment with an orthopedic surgeon after experiencing pain in her right hip. She complained to the medical expert about the pain, which she said hindered her from walking across the room unaided a week prior. The doctor subjected her to a series of tests, including extensive x-rays, MRI, and a CT scan. Upon examining the results, the doctor broke it to Kris that her treatment may require more than a few prescriptions.

Biting The Bullet

Speaking to the cameras, Kris described her situation as biting the bullet. She went on to explain how the pain she was dealing with was getting in the way of her glamorous lifestyle, something she could not afford. She divulged:

The episode then showed the surgeon reviewing the results of the MRI scans while Kris and her boyfriend, Corey Gamble, watched nervously. The tense moment was followed by the revelation that the 66-year-old needed to go under the knife to have her hips replaced. Kris Jenner admitted she never expected such a diagnosis, as the idea of undergoing a hip replacement surgery made her feel older than her age.

After making some halfhearted jokes about moving around with a walker while recovering from the painful procedure, Kris admitted the idea scared her. For her, a hip replacement would only serve as a constant reminder she was getting old and would most likely have health challenges for the rest of her life.

Going further, the mother of six admitted she felt nervous about notifying her kids about the upcoming surgery as she feared they may worry too much. Eventually, Kris Jenner agreed to go through with the hip replacement procedure and inform her family.

While speaking to her mom MJ Shannon, and daughters Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian, the star tried seeing things in a positive light. She revealed she would rather have the surgery now than in five years when healing would be more difficult. Notwithstanding, she still feared the aging process, admitting amid tears,

Kris also revealed the realization she was getting older, despite feeling forty at heart, and kept messing with her head, hence her emotional outburst. Those fears did not hinder the momager from going through with the procedure. Yet she remains as vibrant as ever, taking her career to new heights while managing her daughters’ respective careers.
