Kirstie Alley Had Colon Cancer

Kirstie’s children told People on Tuesday, December 6, a day after the Cheers actress died, that she battled colon cancer.

Her children, William “True” and Lillie, said she only recently discovered she had cancer. The Emmy winner also received treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, before her untimely passing.

Kirstie’s children noted that she fought with great strength before her death. They added that she was an extraordinary mother and grandmother as well as an incredible actress.

The Look Who’s Talking star welcomed her kids while married to Parker Stevenson from 1983 to 1997. The Hardy Boys alum penned a touching tribute to his late ex-wife via Instagram on Monday after learning of her demise.

The actor thanked her for their time together and the children and grandchildren they shared, noting that she will be missed. Kirstie was married to her high school sweetheart, Bob Alley, from 1970 to 1977 before her marriage to Parker.

Kirstie Was A Renowned Actress

Before Kirstie Alley’s demise, she made her mark on the entertainment industry. The late Kirstie won the Emmy and Golden Globe with 76 credits to her name.

She is best known for her role on Cheers in 1987, where she starred as Rebecca Howe. Kirstie earned a Golden Globe for best actress and an Emmy for outstanding lead actress for her part in it.

Most recently, the It Takes Two star made headlines for her reality TV roles. She also competed on two seasons of Dancing With the Stars and was the runner-up on Britain’s Celebrity Big Brother. Moreover, in April, the Kirstie alum was unmasked as the Baby Mammoth on Season 7 of The Masked Singer.
