A concrete release date has finally been revealed.

Kingdom Hearts III has an official release date and the long awaited sequel will arrive on January 29th, 2019 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.  In somewhat of a stealth reveal, the release date for Kingdom Hearts III was announced in the first Orchestra World Tour where a new video was shown that also revealed the inclusion of the Disney character Rattatouille.

The game had previously been expected to release in 2018, but this slight delay into early-2019 means that it won’t be much longer for fans to wait for the game.  While this first information comes ahead of Square Enix’s own press conference and the major platform holder press conferences, it’s expected that we’ll be hearing a lot more about Kingdom Hearts III before E3 2018 is said and done.

A number of private videos have been uploaded by Square Enix that will likely be revealed in the days ahead.  It would not be a huge surprise if we see trailers for Kingdom Hearts 3 at either the Xbox or PlayStation Press Conference, or both.  Square’s own press conference is slated for Monday, June 11th at 10AM PT.

Back in May it was revealed in a gameplay trailer that the game would feature characters from Monsters Inc.

It’s been a long wait for Kingdom Hearts fans.  Once thought to be vaporware, Kingdom Hearts fans have been waiting for well over a decade for Kingdom Hearts III.
