King of Fighters XV just got a new trailer announcing Season 2 for the game featuring a new character, Shingo Yabuki. SNK is getting ready to bring new content to the game, which includes many new teams. King of Fighters XV is doing so well that it was nominated in the Best Fighting Game Category in the upcoming Game Awards for 2022.
Season 2 of King of Fighters XV kicks off in January of next year (2023), and on the same day, the DLC character Shingo Yabuki, who was originally confirmed to be joining the roster during Evo 2022, will be available for purchase. King of Fighters XV fans will soon see the return of Kin Kaphwan, who was also confirmed during Evo 2022, in spring 2023. Other than these two characters, there are five others that will be joining the roster during 2023, but those characters have not been confirmed yet.
King of Fighters XV Season 2 Trailer With Shingo Yabuki
The King of Fighters XV Season 2 trailer also confirmed the upcoming open beta for testing crossplay for the game. This will allow PC and console players to fight against each other online. SNK has not confirmed any details regarding the beta as of now, but the trailer did announce that the beta will also take place during spring 2023.
Of course, being a fighting game, King of Fighters XV will be getting a whole host of balance changes to each character. This will probably shake up the tier lists a bit, with some complaints getting resolved.
King of Fighters XV has been doing quite well compared to King of Fighters XIV, which was not doing this well by the time its season 2 rolled around. The netcode for the game has been rock solid, with the only complaint being the atrocious matchmaking. Here’s to hoping the matchmaking gets a few updates so lower-rank players stop getting demolished by experienced fighters. King of Fighters XV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
