The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X might’ve been released last month, but this generation’s console war is just starting to heat up. KFC Gaming has revealed that its joke announcement back in June is now a reality. In partnership with Cooler Master, the company officially announced that it will be releasing the KFConsole gaming machine. This bucket-shaped machine features the world’s first “built-in chicken chamber” to keep your crispy fried chicken hot during intense gaming sessions. And to make sure that the hardware is kept at a regular core temperature while simultaneously delivering a piping-hot meal, it uses a unique cooling system to extract heat around the outside of the chicken chamber.
Before you take bets on which developer KFC will be buying for its first-party exclusive titles though, KFConsole is actually “just” a mini gaming PC — not an actual console like PS5 or Xbox. Still, the company said that this mini PC will be VR and ray-tracing ready as well as supporting “finger-clickin’ good” 4K display with 240 FPS and up to 240Hz output. Unfortunately, both the official statement and the product page don’t divulge much about the specs of the KFConsole. But according to Hexus.net‘s observation, here is a rough idea of what kind of secret spices are being used for the KFConsole:
- Chassis: Cooler Master NC100 (custom)
- CPU: Intel Core i9-9980HK
- GPU: ASUS Dual Mini GeForce RTX (not sure whether it’s the current RTX 2070 or an upcoming RTX 30XX)
- RAM: 32GB RAM
- Storage: Twin Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SSD
