While Marvel movies are not for everyone in Hollywood, some are actively trying to get into the MCU. Ryan Gosling wants to be Ghost Rider, and Kevin Feige is open to it. After the La La Land actor told Josh Horowitz, the host of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, that he would like to play the flaming skulled superhero, the Marvel Studios boss responded after MTV brought it up to him.

For being an iconic character, eventually, the motorcycle rider will make it into the MCU. The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus has said for years that he would be open to doing the role. So, it looks like competition for the role is growing, giving Marvel options on who to pick.

Out of the comic book roster of characters who have not graced the big or small screen, Nova has been rumored to come into the fold, and recent rumors of The Gray Man actor playing the role. There are no announced plans for Nova in the MCU in Phase 5 or 6 during SDCC. Then, the actor himself denied any talks about becoming that hero.

“I don’t know anything about Nova, if that’s what you’re going to ask me,” he told Horowitz.

Ghost Rider with Ryan Gosling and Kevin Feige producing would be certainly different from the 2007 film with Nicolas Cage and its 2012 sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The first film starred Gosling’s partner Eva Mendes, so maybe it is a sign that he should take on the role.

Getting a deal with Ryan Gosling and Kevin Feige for Ghost Rider would be fitting. For one, Marvel seems to get every A-lister imaginable. Secondly, the universe is tapping into darker, more supernatural-oriented characters with Moon Knight, played by Oscar Isaac, and Mahershala Ali starring in Blade next year.
