Kevin Conroy, who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Rocksteady Arkham series, has confirmed that he will not return for whatever DC Comics project WB Montreal is developing.
Conroy said this while speaking with JOE. The actor also said that he wasn’t sure why WB Montreal went in another direction. Kevin Conroy has been one of the most legendary voices of the Dark Knight for decades. He’s voiced the character countless times across many television shows and in video games. Later this year, Conroy will finally be able to play a future version of this character in live-action as part of the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths” CW crossover.
Just a few weeks ago, WB Montreal sent out a tweet teasing a new Arkham-related game with the caption “Capture the Knight” and a few mysterious symbols. The game is rumored to center around the Court of Owls, a secret society in Gotham who have been essentially running the city for years.

The Court of Owls is a fairly new antagonist for Batman. The mysterious group made their first comic appearance in 2011 and have since become one of the more popular Batman rogues.
It should be noted that WB Montreal has changed voice actors in the past. Arkham Origins saw Roger Craig Smith as the voice behind the World’s Greatest Detective. Mark Hamill, who is best known for Star Wars and his voice work as the Joker in many DC projects (including the Arkham series), was also absent from the game. Instead of Hamill, the studio went with Troy Baker as the infamous Clown Prince of Crime.
WB Montreal’s Batman project was rumored to be officially announced during Sony’s September 2019 State of Play. However, the event came and went with no mention of the game. Hopefully, we get some official news sooner rather than later.
