Keegan-Michael Key returns to Apple TV with a newly ordered second season of Schmigadoon!, which will see the return of his costars Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live), Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie), Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), Ann Harada (Smash), Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), and Aaron Tveit (Les Misérables). The renewal follows other shows on the service like Severance, Pachinko, The Afterparty, and Slow Horses.

Not much is known about the second season since the streamer just ordered the second season. What is known is that Tituss Burgess (Central Park) and Patrick Page (In the Heights) will join in on the fun.

Created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong are a couple who come across a magical town where everyone acts like they are in a musical. Daurio and Paul write the series and executive produce. Barry Sonnefeld (Men in Black) directed all six episodes.

Keegan-Michael Key Finding Success on Apple TV with Schmigadoon!

Apple TV found Schmigadoon! to be a success. It got multiple nominations and a win at the AFI Awards for TV Program of the Year. In addition, its soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy.

Keegan-Michael Key is known for his sketch comedy series Key & Peele, Schmigadoon!, and most recently, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. For his time with collaborator Jordan Peele, he won an Emmy, among other Emmy nominations throughout that show’s run. He is set to star in Pinocchio and return with Peele for Wendell and Wild. For Nintendo, he will star in the upcoming Mario movie with Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Seth Rogan, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black. Further down the road, he will be in Wonka, Reboot, and August Snow.
