Now that TLC’s four episodes deep into 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, it’s no surprise Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa are having problems right out the gate, especially after last season’s friction when Mother Asuelu and Sister Tami demanded money from the parents of two. But Kalani revealed shocking insight into her rocky marriage while furniture shopping with Sister Kolini, revealing to her sibling that she and Asuelu no longer share a bed.
Bombshell revealed, Kalani confides in her sister Kolini, 29.
“I feel like that’s just weird. Do you feel like there’s even any romance between you two?” Kolini asked her sister, hoping Kalani will find someone better. “No, no. Like there’s nothing. It feels like I live with a friend. My roommate with benefits,” Kalani confesses, which worries her younger sister.
“For him and his parents and a lot of people in Samona divorce is just not an option. Like they’re raised to think that if you get married that’s it, so I think he thinks there are no consequences for any of his actions,” Kalani shares in an ITM. “He just thinks we’re going to be together regardless and I just think– what is the point of even being married? Why am I doing everything by myself?’ The savvy mom of two has a point! She runs 95% of a household with two toddlers and a 26-year-old husband-turned-son, and she can’t rely on him for, well, anything.
Kalani Confronts Asuelu About Their Sex Life!
As the episode concludes, Kalani sits down with Asuelu and tells him point-blank: she feels no feelings after stepping in as substitute mommy, and she wants to spice up their stale sex life. She’s direct yet gentle and tries to explain things like “foreplay” and “sex toys” to her 26-year-old husband while treading lightly. Asuelu surprisingly took in what she said and even offered to bring her to”one of those” shops to buy toys!
Just as they start to laugh and ease the tension, Asuelu does a one-eighty and gets really offended when Kalani tries explaining why she doesn’t find it romantic to have food brought home to her, because it’s something her brother also does. “If we talk about you and me and talk about your brother. Damn, it’s so annoying. You need to f***ing work on how you can talk to me!”
Asuelu’s Jekyll/Hyde Complex Pushes Kalani Over the Edge
“The littlest thing can set him off, and it’s usually the dumbest thing,” Kalani says during a confessional. “I can’t ever really tell him my real feelings or try to tell him what we should fix because he takes offense to everything.” As she wipes the tears streaming down her face, Asuelu mocks her for crying and says that it’s stupid she cries because there’s no reason for it. And I’m pretty sure he just solidified his spot as 90 Day Fiance’s Worst Husband of 2021.
“I feel like I fooled myself, yet again, into thinking this marriage was on the right track and Asuelu was going to change,” Kalani tells a producer, at the end of her “happily ever after” rope. “Quite frankly, I don’t see us in a relationship in the future.” Oof. Much deserved though, Kalani still has time to get out and deserves so much more than the “bare minimum” as Sister Kolini describes it.
Kalani ends the fourth episode, and while their storyline has become increasingly uncomfortable to watch, you know we can’t wait for more! 90 Day Fiance: Happy Ever After? airs Sunday night on TLC at 8/7C.
