Justin Bartha says there is hope for another National Treasure sequel. Bartha played Riley Poole, alongside Diane Kruger who played Dr. Abigail Chase, and Nicolas Cage who played Benjamin Franklin Gates. The 2004 and 2007 Disney action-adventure heist films were box-office hits for the media company. It even sparked a Disney+ spin-off series called National Treasure: Edge of History. Justin Bartha reprised his role as Poole and stars opposite Lisette Olivera who plays Jess. Since the original Disney action-adventure heist film producers Jon Turteltaub and Jerry Bruckheimer were involved in the series, it made Bartha agreed to star in the series. Turteltaub also directed the films. Though Bartha enjoys the National Treasure series, he still would want another sequel with Diane Kruger and Nicolas Cage. He is able to watch the movies with his kids now, so it’s especially close to his heart.

Nicolas Cage and Justin Bartha Could Reprise Their Roles for the Film Franchise

Chris Bremner has already written a script for another film. Justin Bartha says that Jon Turteltaub would have to be comfortable with the National Treasure sequel script and would need to be able to “feel like he can see the movie before it happens”. Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, and Justin Bartha made a good team for the films. The writers of the films Cormac Wibberley, and Marianne Wibberley, and the producers of the films returned for the Disney+ series National Treasure: Edge of History, which could mean they could be on board with another sequel with Bartha. The first two films launched Justin Bartha’s career and gave him the opportunity to work with seasoned veteran actors, so it would be a passion project to make another. It would take key players like Nicolas Cage and Jon Turteltaub to join the project for it to actually happen.

Until another sequel to the Disney action-adventure heist film franchise gets made, you can catch National Treasure: Edge of History on Disney+.
