Musical fans have finally gotten what they asked for: Just Shapes & Beats has come to Xbox. After being in the critically-acclaimed scene for four years, developer Berzerk Studio caved into porting their bullet-hell experience for the Xbox crowd. The full game is available now for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for $19.99.

Move and Dodge with the Rhythm in Just Shapes & Beats

For those who haven’t played Just Shapes & Beats, you take control of a colorful shape that moves to the beat of the music. The task is to flow with the rhythm while avoiding deadly pink shapes. However, the game centers around pulsating electronic music, highlighted by stunning visuals that make you feel as if you’re at an EDM festival. This means that the music can drastically change within an instant; thus, prompting the players (up to 4) to think on their toes.

The Xbox announcement trailer here for Just Shapes & Beats graciously showcases the intense rhythmic gameplay. It plays through several tracks that smash the screen with musical insanity. Berzerk Studio even implements messages from fans asking for the Xbox version of the game toward the end. Keep in mind that some visuals might be uncomfortable for some viewers, so proceed with caution if flashy visuals affect you.

The Xbox launch for Just Shapes & Beats marks its fourth anniversary, with the original release occurring on May 31st, 2018. It first mixed into the gaming scene with the PC and Nintendo Switch platforms; the macOS and Linux releases came through on February 24th, 2019; PlayStation 4 users finally got their piece of the action on May 10th, 2019, for the US, and May 30th for Europe, Australia, and Russia; more than a year later on June 30th, 2020, it made its appearance on Stadia.
