A new game titled Jurassic World: Primal Ops is likely being worked on by Universal. The news is all the more interesting considering the imminent release of Jurassic World Evolution 2.

The newfound information comes from the copyright search engine Trademarkia. On August 26, Universal City Studios LLC had registered the trademark Jurassic World: Primal Ops, under the ‘Computer & Software Products’ category.

It isn’t completely clear what kind of game it’s going to be, but there’s a chance for it to end up being a mobile one. The Jurassic World: Primal Ops description has a couple of mentions of ‘mobile’ – although the terms ‘computer game software’ and ‘video game consoles’ are mentioned as well. It’s likely that ‘mobile’ is a generic term being used for video game descriptions, but nothing can really be confirmed as of yet.

Justia Trademarks also has a record of the new trademark. This is the website that exposed Jurassic World Aftermath VR back in 2020. The major difference between the registrations is probably the absence of the term ‘mobile’ in Aftermath‘s description. This makes the possibility of Primal Ops being a mobile title a very real one. At the very least, we can be fairly confident it isn’t going to be a VR title since Aftermath did have ‘virtual reality’ mentioned in its own description.

Jurassic World: Primal Ops Trademark Might Be a Mobile Title

With the limited amount of information we possess, it is difficult to assess what kind of game Jurassic World: Primal Ops is going to be. There’s a good chance it will end up being an FPS, considering its name – but it’s all just speculation for now.  We can say with some certainty that it’s not going to be another simulation game.

Jurassic World Evolution 2‘s release is right around the corner, to satisfy those seeking a video game of that type. It’s set to release on November 9, 2021, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In the meantime, you can check out our review of the first title, Jurassic World Evolution.
