What makes a game great? Friends? Sure. Family? Why not. Physical activity? Maybe, but eh. Really, what makes a game great is the challenge it presents. Whether or not you are exerted and the enjoyment you experience. For decades THE staple of all games has been Jeopardy. It’s difficult but rewarding, and getting an answer correct feels damn good. But it has been dethroned. That’s right everyone, there’s a new number one in the streets. Hosted by none other than Josh Macuga himself. I present to you —— JOSHPARDY!

Essentially it’s just Jeopardy, but it’s hosted by Josh Macuga. If you’re unaware of who Josh Macuga is, I’ll fill you in. Macuga is an accomplished host and social media personality. He’s an actor and writer, and currently hosts History Channel’s Eating History (it’s a damn good show, by the way). He also hosts a successful YouTube talk show, The Josh Macuga Show, from his California home.

Kinda Funny Has Joined the Party

Gaming nerds like myself may know him from his time spent with the Kinda Funny crew. And if you know Kinda Funny, you know that any content involving them is sure to be a hoot and a half.

So given the friendship between the KF gang and Macuga, it seems only natural that they’d collaborate during this Covid-19 quarantine. I’m happy to tell you that they have and they’ve struck gold.

F Is For Family

Macuga has added to his established resume by becoming the host of JOSHPARDY. A dream come true for many. Its second episode aired live last night on YouTube and was a roaring success. You can watch it here on Macuga’s channel.

The game has been a three-team race, pitting the three Kinda Funny founders’ households against one another. In one corner you’ve got Tim Gettys with his fiance, Gia, and KF team member Joey Noelle. In another, Greg Miller, his wife Geneviève, and their housemate, Lucy James of GameSpot. And then Nick Scarpino, sometimes with his wife (Kinda Funny Best Friends don’t blame her for avoiding Nick).

From JOSHPARDY With Love

The formula is quite simple. Josh dishes out prepared questions and keeps tally of the score. The audience becomes a part of the action as well by submitting questions during the live stream. It may sound like normal Jeopardy, but nothing involving the Kinda Funny crew is ever normal. There are constant jokes and friendly banter. Nick inevitably crosses a line and the cast pushes on through the laughter.

Everything is done online so a few technical hiccups arise here and there, but they add to the genuine nature of the program.

More Content And More Laughs To Have

We’ve all been home for a long time and are probably looking for some new forms of entertainment. JOSHPARDY is an awesome way to fill that need. Take an hour or two to jump in and play along. It’ll be the highlight of your night, I guarantee it. And if you like JOSHPARDY, there’s a never-ending rabbit hole of content from both Macuga and the folks at Kinda Funny.
