Jonah Hill, who recently starred in Netflix’s Don’t Look Up, spoke in an interview about his performance in the movie along with his start to stardom. Jonah Hill was asked about his first starring role in the 2007 coming-of-age comedy Superbad. An interesting topic was brought up as well, and Hill revealed he has one condition for when it comes to possibly making ‘Superbad 2′ and with Seth Rogen’s involvement. Superbad was Jonah’s Hill’s breakout movie which led him to future success over the years.

Hill has starred in numerous movies in the past two decades. He starred in 21 Jump Street(2012) with Channing Tatum and gained notoriety for Wolf of Wall Street in 2014, where he played alongside friend and repeated costar Leonardo DiCaprio. He was even nominated for an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his work on Wall Street.

Hill is interested in making a sequel to Superbad, but on one condition only, he has to be 80. Jonah Hill’s idea for ‘Superbad 2′ involves the original cast returning as their older selves in their eighties. Former cast members include costar Michael Cera and the cops played by Seth Rogen and Bill Hader. And what would a Superbad sequel be without McLovin himself, Christopher Mintz-Plasse? Also, in the original cast were love interests, including Emma Stone and Martha MacIsaac. But when it comes to Hill’s Superbad 2 vision, the girls most likely won’t be in Hill’s vision(if they became the main character’s spouses).

In an interview with W Magazine, Hill said,

According to many former cast members, they don’t have the same idea as Jonah Hill for a new Superbad. Seth Rogen, who also co-wrote the screenplay for Superbad, has said this movie is one he’ll “100% probably never touch” when it comes to making a sequel. When Rogen talked with LADBible last year, he said, “I’m unbelievably proud of it … I’m so terrified of subtracting from it in any way with a bad sequel or spinoff that I’d never do it.” Rogen doesn’t want to touch one of his best accomplishments, and understandably so.

Jonah Hill revealed he never pitched his Superbad idea to anyone until the W Mag interview, so could Superbad 2 be a possibility? Sure. I think the only way Rogen would ever touch it again would have to be far longer in the future. Seth DID say ‘probab’y’. But as of now, Superbad remains a high school comedy classic for the ages.
