Joker has stayed in the news cycle for months for more reasons than Batman has gadgets in his utility belt. Today’s rumblings see the Clown Prince of Crime coming to the big screen again.

Wednesday morning, saw a report saying that director Todd Philips “is in talks” to return behind the camera for the Joker sequel.

For the longest time, the talk surrounding this has been it’s a one-shot movie, and there would be no sequel. However, that talk was before Joker crossed the one billion dollar mark and became the most profitable comic movie of all time.

What is being said is that Philips and Joker co-writer Scott Silver met with Warner Bros. film chief Toby Emmerich to discuss the Joker sequel. There is not a deal or even ink on the script yet, but enough zero’s on a check could get that paper wet pretty quick.

Later in the day, another report came out saying that Warner Bros. and DC are talking about Phillips taking a crack at other comic book characters. However, these are having conflicting stories as insiders are saying that this part never happened, so take it with a grain of salt.

DC Has More In The Pipeline

Joker had so much controversial buzz surrounding it leading up to release, even being banned in something theatres. Now, there is even Oscar buzz for leading actor Joaquin Phoenix and his performance.

The next DC films hitting the big screen 2020 are Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds of Prey. There’s also The Rock lead Black Adam film, The Batman, and a sequel to Suicide Squad from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

We’ll keep you up to date as more info comes out if this Joker sequel happens or not and more DC projects.
