It was only a matter of time, but Johnny Depp is back after the Amber Heard trial! Kind of. The actor who has been in the public eye lately because of the Amber Heard case has been seen out and about again—slowly regaining his footing and reputation in his own life. Though the case is almost finished, Depp took the stage last night in England with Jeff Beck, to everyone’s pleasant surprise. And like a true king, he proceeded to rock out.

Beck and Depp

For those who don’t know, Jeff Beck is one of the most prolific guitarists and performers in the world. He got his start in the Yardbirds with Eric Clapton. That alone tells you everything you need to know about what caliber musician he is. Last night while performing in Sheffield, England, Depp surprisingly took the stage, and the crowd went wild with cheers.

It looks like the Amber Heard trial isn’t taking him out of commission.

As many may know, Depp is quite the musician, fronting his own band, Hollywood Vampires. He also befriended many musicians through his L.A club, The Viper Room. The same club where his friend River Phoenix passed away. But last night in England, it was truly a celebration of Depp and of life itself.

Depp was seen joining in on the Beck song “Isolation,” but he then threw a musical curveball at the audience, which wowed many. They transitioned into the Marvin Gay classic “What’s Going On.” A song that felt very pertinent to both the times we live in and Depp’s current situation. Depp also has much lighter hair, looking like he dyed it before the show.

So if you asked the crowd, they would definitely tell you Johnny Depp is back. But the reality is, he never left. He just got muddied up in a pretty nasty divorce and some fallout since. But if last night is any indication, Depp is set to come back stronger and bigger than ever.
