Become John Wick…which means a lot of reloading.
The John Wick movie franchise sort of made its name through the unique ways it handled reloading weapons. The titular Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, took its ammo conservation and management very seriously, and the game based on that series is no different. Players will always be very aware of their available ammunition, and need to understand the basics for how to handle when it runs out. To help with that, here’s a quick guide on how to reload in John Wick Hex.
How to Reload
For the first few missions you almost certainly won’t be able to reload at all. This is because the idea behind John Wick Hex is that you don’t often carry extra guns or ammo with you. Instead you start with a gun and possibly some extra magazines, but from there it’s all about finding what you need. So reloading is actually pretty easy, but you often just won’t have what you need to do it. If you do though, it’s a simple click away.
Thanks to the slow paced, almost turn-based gameplay, you can quickly and easily see if you can reload. Just glance at the bottom right of the screen where your current weapon and ammo are displayed. If you have extra magazines the reload button will be highlighted. If you aren’t under fire or in direct threat, you can click this to reload your gun without worry. If there are enemies nearby you’ll likely want to be more careful. Look for ways to disable or stagger the enemies, giving you the moment you need to reload without being shot yourself.
