Community star Joel McHale will lead and executive produce Animal Control, a new Fox workplace comedy series in development. It was created by Rob Fisher (The Moodys), Rob Greenberg (The Moodys), and Dan Sterling (Long Shot), who will all executive produce with Tad Quill. The star developed the idea and was approached to take on the leading role after the order. Negotiations started in July for his position, and it took months to finalize a deal.

As hinted by the name, Joel McHale will be an Animal Control worker. He plays Frank, an opinionated and eccentric worker who is the smartest one of his colleagues, despite never going to college. As a former cop, he tried to shine a light on corruption when he served, which got him fired and led him to this new job. It worked out by how much he could understand animals. Humans, for him and his coworkers, are the real issue to understand.

The leading star is best known for his role in Community, which after so many discussions online and from creator Dan Harmon, it will finally receive a movie. The movie will see other returning stars, with some people undetermined to return. The upcoming comedy series was not the first time he worked with Fox, as he did before on his game show Crime Scene Kitchen. Other works include Stargirl, The Bear, and Santa Clarita Diet.

Joel McHale in Animal Control is on top of his plentiful roles in front of him. He is attached to Star Wars: Detours, September 17th, California King, American Dog, and Quantum and Woody. He will be returning to host Crime Scene Kitchen, which was renewed for a second season by Fox. The first season was judged by chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp.
