Jessica Walter is an actress recognizable in many roles. She’s had major roles in television shows and movies. But she is known for her most recent role in the series Archer. While the show continues to be popular, it has unfortunately lost one of its cast.

Jessica Walter’s Passing and Work

While her name is credited for many things, it is Arrested Development that most tv viewers recognize the actress from. Having played Lucille all three seasons, it nabbed her an Emmy nomination. And when Netflix asked to have her back, she had no problem reprising the role. It is no surprise that Jessica Walter would be called back to play a character she helped make popular.

Her role in Arrested Development likely paved the way for the show Archer. Many fans will recognize her as the voice of ‘Malory Archer,’ or ‘Mama Archer,’ as many refer to the character.

She also had many roles in movies such as The Flamingo Kid, The Love Boat, Trapper John, and Clint Eastwood’s Play Misty for Me. The acclaimed performance in the latter is still discussed to this day.

Brooke Bowman, daughter of actress Jessica Walter, shared a statement. “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom, Jessica.” Her daughter shared that her mother had a favorite part to acting: bring a smile to the viewer’s face and making them laugh. Her TV son, Tony Hale, also shared that her “force, talent, and timing were unmatched.”

While her work is ‘done’ here, viewers can still show their appreciation for her work. Check out streaming channels like Netflix and Hulu to stream Arrested Development and Archer.
