Why Did Lawrence Feel Like A Commodity After Her Oscar Victory?
The X-Men actress opened up during a question and answer sesh at the London Film Festival on October 8th. The 32-year-old shared, “I think I lost a sense of control,” Lawrence continued that between the first release of The Hunger Games and winning the Oscar, “I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group of decision,” The actress stated that she was oblivious of what a famous movie star should do. She was also unsure what Katniss Everdeen, her character in The Hunger Games, should do next.
When The Hunger Games premiered in March 2012, Jennifer Lawrence was already nominated for an Oscar. However, her role in the movie skyrocketed her to a higher level of fame. In less than a year, she won the best actress for her explicit performance in Silver Linings Playbook. At the age of 22, Lawrence became the second-youngest actress to win the best actress award.

Lawrence had an interview last month about her upcoming movie. The Joy actress is set to release her first movie after welcoming her son. The actress and her husband, Cooke Maroney, welcomed their baby boy, Cy, in February 2022.
In her upcoming movie, Causeway, Lawrence will play Lynsey, a soldier adapting to life after having a traumatic brain injury. The movie was also produced by Lawrence’s production company, Excellent Cadaver. The movie will be released in November.
While speaking about the movie with Vogue, Lawrence shared, “It’s very personal,” The actress went ahead to speak about another personal subject, being a mother. She shared she has not discussed it publicly because it was “so different” for everyone.
Lawrence was grateful she had friends who were honest with her about the fears of motherhood. Knowing what it entails helped her prepare “to be forgiving.” The actress shared that despite the fears, she was able to connect and fall in love with her son immediately.
