Daytime television is in a tough place with the absence of icons like Wendy Williams. However, there is still much competition in the talk show space. The Jennifer Hudson Show premiered in September, and now the show has been renewed for a second season. Of course, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson hosts the daytime talk show.
Warner Bros. Discovery syndicates The Jennifer Hudson Show, and Jennifer, along with her production company, JHud Productions, produces it. In its premiere week, Jennifer Hudson’s talk show became the number 1 first-run series. In its first week, the show featured guests such as Viola Davis and former American Idol Judge Simon Cowell. So far, season 1 of The Jennifer Hudson Show has averaged 5.2 million viewers. The show airs on Fox-owned stations.

The Jennifer Hudson Show is a huge hit on daytime television. Unfortunately, it’s a difficult TV genre to get right, which is why so few shows last.
Jennifer Hudson Is An Icon
In addition to hosting a successful daytime talk show, Jennifer Hudson is a full-fledged icon. Not only because of her music and acting roles, but because Jennifer is a member of the exclusive EGOT club. For those not in the know, this distinction means a person has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Jennifer Hudson has two Grammys and one of each of the other three prestigious awards. Of course, she got her start when she became a finalist on American Idol in 2004. Since then, she has starred in many films and released three studio albums. Most recently, she played Aretha Franklin in the film RESPECT.
