This week, Marvel and Star Wars announced an upcoming comic book focused on Jedi Master Yoda. The series is composed of three arcs from three separate creative teams. Cavan Scott and Nico Leon will handle the first arc of the ten-issue series. It is expected to launch later in October.

What Will Jedi Master Yoda Get Up To?

Star Wars: Yoda was announced during this year’s Star Wars Celebration. It is set during the Jedi Master’s self-imposed exile on Dagobah. Here, he reflects on his past adventures. The three arcs of the series will span centuries of Yoda’s life. Each arc focuses on a key moment in the Jedi Master’s long life.

The first arc kicks things off with a story set during Star Wars: The High Republic era. New York Times bestselling author Cavan Scott is joined by artist Nico Leon for the opening story. Meanwhile, writers Jody Houser and Marc Guggenheim are teaming up with artists Luke Ross and Alessandro Miracolo for the preceding arcs. These will be stories set before the Prequel Trilogy and near the end of the Clone Wars. However, Scott and Leon will return for the final issue.

What Else Do We Know?

The solo series will reveal some unexplored aspects of Jedi Master Yoda’s history. It will shed light on the mystery that has surrounded the Star Wars character since his introduction.

Writer Cavan Scott shared his excitement for the project and his love for Yoda. He admits to Marvel that every time he gets the opportunity to write the Jedi Master, his love deepens. The Jedi Master is one of his top three favorites from the Star Wars Universe. Of course, he is also aware of the importance of writing Yoda. After all, the character casts a “long shadow over anything he appears in.” Though, Scott appreciates the privilege and responsibility of the task.

Star Wars: Yoda is out this October.
