The host of Jay Leno‘s Garage, Jay himself, made a joke about how his face looked before and after his fire accident. He wrote on Sunday to talk about the recent incident saying, “Anybody who works with their hands on a regular basis is going to have an accident at some point.”
He added that there’s a risk factor in anything anybody does, but thankfully he survived his. The television host wrote in Wall Street Journal about how he got a brand new face eight days after the gasoline fire got his face burnt.
The burns resulted in corrective surgery for the star’s body, including his chest and hands. According to Jay Leno, his face is better than before the accident.

Jay Leno Says It’s Better To Joke About His Fire Accident and New Face Than to Grieve
Happiness is the best way to manage a tragic situation, as anger and fear are known to foster more chaos. The host of Jay Leno’s garage is conscious of this positive strategy, and he’s applying it concerning his fire accident and face surgery.
According to him, there’s nothing worse than a whiny celebrity. But if you joke about it, others will join in laughing, and it’s the best medicine.
The comic was back on stage two weeks after his Hermosa Beach sold-out performance at The Comedy and Magic Club on November 27. He joked to reporters at the venue, including NBC News, that he never thought of himself as a roast comic.
He further quipped that there were two shows that night: the regular and extra “crispy.” However, he confirmed that he felt good before thanking the reporters.
It’s all jokes and laughter now, but the host/actor’s condition at the time was quite serious when he was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center. He suffered second and third-degree burns on his face and some parts of his body.
Jay Leno’s accident occurred while working on a steam engine in his garage, but thankfully, he can joke about it after his surgery.
It’s great to see him back on his feet!
