The cast and crew of the Fox comedy sitcom Welcome to Flatch will officially be adding a member to their ranks with the addition of actress Jaime Pressly as a series regular for season two of the show. Season 2, which is set to premiere in September 2022, will see Pressly as Barb Flatch join existing Welcome to Flatch cast members Holmes and Sam Straley as members of a small, rundown town in Ohio.
Originally based on a 2017 BBC comedy series called This Country, Welcome to Flatch first premiered on Fox in March 2022 and was renewed for a second season in May. The fourteen-episode first season features a film crew that travels to the small town of Flatch, Ohio, to interview the town’s eccentric residents, including cousins Kelly Mallet (Holmes) and Lloyd “Shrub” Mallet (Sam Straley); according to the official series synopsis, the film crew chooses to focus on the lives of the cousins “and their idiosyncratic surroundings” as they document the lives of the residents of Flatch in a mockumentary reminiscent of The Office. Along with Kelly and Shrub, other Flatch residents include Mickey St. Jean (Justin Linville), Nadine Garcia-Parney (Taylor Ortega), Cheryl Peterson (Aya Cash), Mandy “Big Mandy” Matthews (Krystal Smith), and Joseph “Father Joe” Binghoffer (Seann William Scott).
What We Know About Jaime Pressly in ‘Welcome to Flatch’
Jaime Pressly will be joining the cast of Welcome to Flatch on Fox as Barb Flatch, a woman who grew up as part of an important family in Flatch, Ohio, but left the town presumably to pursue her career goals but returns to her hometown to become the town’s realtor. Describing Pressly’s character, Deadline reports that “[Barb] believes in second chances and wants to give Flatch the glow up it deserves, one margarita at a time.” Some of Jaime Pressly’s other noteworthy roles include playing Jill in CBS sitcom Mom (2013), Donna in Fox’s Raising Hope (2011), Joy Turner in My Name is Earl (2005), and Denise in I Love You, Man (2009), which also starred Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.
Welcome to Flatch is executive produced by show creator Jenny Bricks (The Greatest Showman) along with Paul Feig (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist). According to Variety, Welcome to Flash is the brainchild of Lionsgate Studios, the Los Angeles arm of BBC Studios, in conjunction with Fox Studios.
Season two of Welcome to Flatch starring Jaime Pressly is set to premiere on Fox on September 29th, 2022.
