There are two different types of multiplayer available in Gran Turismo 7. The first is the ability to play with your friends online. This is pretty standard and available on most all modern-day racing games. The real surprise comes in with the couch co-op mode.
GT7 goes where many Playstation 5 game’s haven’t and adds in the ability to play with a friend whose physically sitting beside you. This is done by using split-screen, a nice throwback to racing games of old and perfect for players who just want to have a racing night in person.
Of course, if you are looking to play online, there are several different types of races you can indulge in and play together. Lobbies and meeting places are present for you to hang out with your friends in.
Sports Mode is the competitive online mode that pits you against other players, and if you’re interested in a classic experience, you can try out the online split-screen multiplayer. You will need a valid Playstation Plus subscription to take care of these online features.
