Hogwarts Legacy is upon us this holiday, and there are still many mysteries upon us. One that has been solved is the case of multiplayer. Having a Wizarding World co-op RPG would be incredible, but is Hogwarts Legacy going to fulfill that? Read on to find out.

The game has received a new gameplay showcase at the March 17 State of Play, giving us new details on the title. We find out that your character can make friends with all manner of students in Hogwarts Legacy, including even a Slytherin. However, you will not be able to cooperate with your friends in the game.

We’ve received official information from PlayStation Canada that the game will be single-player only. Instead, NPCs can join your party to be a part of the battle. “Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player open-world action RPG,” the company said in an email. “While you can have NPC companions join you on your adventures, the story is about your own legacy.”

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get the help of your real-life pals in Hogwarts Legacy during tough duels and battles. Hopefully, the NPC characters are up to snuff and can truly assist you in combat and potentially puzzles.

Unlike previous Warner Bros published games such as Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Hogwarts: Legacy will not have microtransactions.
