Nagash is one of the most formidable antagonists in the entire Warhammer universe. The architect of the End Times, Nagash, is “darkness and unreasoning hatred given form” and the creator of all necromancy. So naturally, fans expected the Vampire lord to appear in Total War: Warhammer 3.

However, Nagash will not be in Total War: Warhammer 3 on release. There’s not likely to be many more Factions or Faction Lords revealed, so don’t expect to be able to play Nagash right off the bat.

But don’t rule out the father of Undead’s inclusion in the game totally out. The Followers of Nagash was a playable Tomb Kings faction in Total War: Warhammer II, and if you have that game, you’ll be able to play them in Total War: Warhammer III. Although the Followers of Nagash were led by Arkhan the Black, and couldn’t be played in a co-op game, the seeds are there for Nagash to be included in the future.

In interviews with the developers of Total War: Warhammer 3, it was stated that “Nothing is off-limits” for the future. This was in response to a question specifically about Nagash and his inclusion in the game.

So perhaps in a future DLC or expansion, we’ll see the Lord of all Vampires make an appearance in the game. Maybe in an End Times-themed update!
