GRID Legends is an action racing game developed by Codemasters. The game boasts cutting-edge graphics, a huge roster of vehicles, and a variety of game modes, but does it have an open-world or a free-roam mode? Let’s find out.

GRID Legends does not feature an open-world setting. The latest installment in the franchise is bound to race-tracks and objective completion. This is unlike its would-be rival, Forza Horizon, which released last year and features a diverse open-world alongside competitive racing game modes. This makes GRID akin to Forza Motorsport.

While both Horizon and GRID offer a casual driving experience to players, GRID Legends is primarily focused on motorsport limited to race-tracks, with a campaign story revolving around the GRID World Series championship.

In GRID Legends, players can choose from a variety of maps, vehicles, race tracks, and game modes. Although the game isn’t open-world, players are given great flexibility to design their own race themes and game modes for multiplayer matches using the Race Creator menu.
