Virtual Reality modder Luke Ross is undertaking a huge project in bringing Elden Ring to VR. Ross has previously brought titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 to VR, but he has now turned his skills to From Soft’s Elden Ring. As this is a mod, there is no official Elden Ring VR release, and the developers have not announced any plans to create one themselves.

Luke Ross aims to have Elden Ring playable in VR by the middle of May, but there is no official release date. You can follow the progress on Ross’ official Patreon, where he uploaded a sneak peek of Elden Ring VR footage. Ross does mention that when he releases the project, it will be a work in progress.

How to play Elden Ring in VR

Ross does not mention on his Patreon if Elden Ring is playable on specific headsets such as the Oculus Quest 2, PSVR, or Vive. But upon release, you should be able to subscribe to Ross’ Patreon to download the files. You will then need to unzip them, move them to your Elden Ring game folder, and put the files in the correct place. We will update this with more in-depth details when the mod releases.

Other VR mods by Ross do not include motion controls, only head movements, so Elden Ring in VR will likely be the same. In addition, there will be an option to have a traditional first-person VR camera, or you can opt to keep Elden Ring’s third-person point of view.
