Many people were annoyed that EA/DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront game lacked having a single player campaign. It appears EA wants to rectify that when the sequel comes out eventually.

As reported by Examiner, EA COO Peter Moore talked about Star Wars Battlefront at the Credit Suisse 19th Annual Technology, Media & Telecom Conference recently.

Moore defended their offering of Star Wars Battlefront claiming that it’s not purely a multiplayer only game. He said the title has “lot of single player opportunities within the game“. He admitted there is no campaign obviously, but there is co-op and couch play available.

Moore said DICE made the decision not to include a single player campaign to focus solely on the multiplayer. However, he hinted that a single player campaign could be featured in future games in the series. He said: “This isn’t to say that decision for future games are locked in stone, we’ll determine what that team does as the development team gets further down that process“.

DICE only worked on Star Wars Battlefront for two years and had to release the game before Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. Hopefully the sequel gives them more development time so they can add a decent single player campaign. The Star Wars universe is so large that they have multiple options to focus on various characters and more.
