One of your first quests in Genshin Impact 1.2 will be to investigate the strange ice in the Dragonspine region. This will give you a waypoint that you need to get to on the Snow Covered Road, the first area you will enter in the region.
Just across from a teleporter you will find a very strange shard of ice indeed. You cannot break it by conventional means, so you will need to think outside the box a little bit.
All around the larges shards of ice, you will find red crystals, and breaking them will cause a smaller red crystal to drop. You can pick these up to gain a buff, and if you quickly run to the central shard of ice and hit it, you will be able to do some damage to it.
There should be plenty of red crystals around the area for you to smash to get the buff, just make sure you make it to the ice core quickly so you don’t lose it. You will need to do this four times, after which the central shard will break, revealing a strange crystal orb. If you interact with this, it will shoot off into the sky, and a strange tree will grow where it was located. This is the Frostbearing Tree, and you can rank it up by collecting Crimson Agate and then bringing it to the tree.
By ranking up the Frostbearing Tree you will get access to plenty of rewards, including the Warming Bottle which will help you fight the effect of Sheer Cold, the environmental status effect that builds up on you in the Dragonspine region.
