Even before the season one finale of Apple+’s continent jumping, alien invading, science fiction television show, Apple+ has decided to renew Invasion for a season 2, according to Comicbook. Apple+ greenlit Invasion for 10 episodes back in 2019.

A Second Invasion?

Invasion’s premise is fairly simple: an alien invasion from the perspective of different people, but what helps the premise is that it’s not from different people in the United States, it’s from different people’s perspectives from across different continents, which does add some variation per episode.

We also got to hear series co-showrunner, Simon Kinberg, give his reaction to the great news:

The men behind Invasion are the aforementioned Simon Kinberg and David Weil. Weil is also a showrunner for the TV series Hunters and Solos. While Kinberg is best known for scribing movies like XXX: State of the Union, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past and has been credited as a producer for such projects as Ridley Scott’s The Martian, Deadpool, and one of the most non-comic book, comic book movies I have ever seen, Logan.

I described Logan as a black and white comic book movie when I first watched it. Due to the fact that although it is a comic book movie, it does not look like one; no yellow costume, no spandex, or anything even resembling anything from a comic book movie of the time. They later decided to release a black and white cut of Logan by the name of Logan Noir.
