This year’s mainline video game releases have just begun. There are plenty of fresh new titles for next-gen systems just on the horizon. Of course, one such developer, Insomniac, is seemingly now ready to go. With plenty of Ratchet and Clank news piling in over the last year, fans have been waiting a long time. Insomniac’s Ratchet and Clank on PS4 left much to be desired and opened the door to modern Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. After launching Spider-Man: Miles Morales with the PS5 console last holiday, their real launch title is just around the corner. With so much hype surrounding a true return, a new Ratchet and Clank is shaping up quite well. Announced today through their Twitter, Insomniac detailed that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart has gone gold and starts production less than a month before release.

What Does This Mean for Insomniac Games?

With Insomniac having finalized work on their new Spider-Man series, it was time for a return to their roots. Showcasing the PS5’s capabilities with their reveal trailer last summer, many were intrigued to see where the series would go. As the titular characters had already reached a climax in development and a full reboot movie, fans were wary. Yet, the new Ratchet title has lots of promise especially in the response to the most recent gameplay showcase.

The Playstation State of Play events have done tremendous work in showing the title’s potential. When Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart goes gold a month before release, it’s a good sign development has come along smoothly. Producing a gold edition is a testament to the years Insomniac has spent slaving over the project. With the game having come such a long way, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart finally launches June 11 exclusively on PS5.
