The IndyCar games are finally making their way to consoles, thanks to a partnership with Motorsport Games. The leading racing game developer just announced that they would be working with the IndyCar Series to create a new title to release sometime in the near future.

In a press release, Motorsport Games revealed that they had reached an agreement with the NTT IndyCar Series to create a simulation racing game to come out for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to release in 2023. “Motorsport Games and IndyCar are thrilled to provide fans with a long-overdue dedicated gaming experience,” said Dmitry Kozko, CEO of Motorsport Games. “After decades of world-class racing, we cannot think of a more deserving league for a video game franchise. IndyCar shares our commitment to bringing authentic experiences to motor racing enthusiasts. Fans can anticipate the NTT IndyCar Series to meet the same level of excellence and immersive gameplay they expect from Motorsport Games.” The announcement was also made on the IndyCar Game’s official Twitter page.

Just like other big racing franchises that have grown over the years with the audience through gaming, IndyCar is looking to enter the race track by forming their own esports competition to unveil before the end of the year, hopefully. “Our partnership with Motorsport Games will bring the fierce competition of the NTT IndyCar Series to a global gaming audience hungry for quality motorsports content,” said Mark Miles, President & CEO, Penske Entertainment. “Like the talent and depth of our field, Indy’s universe continues to expand and grow rapidly. We know our fans will have 2023 and the debut of this new NTT INDYCAR SERIES video game circled on their calendars.”

MotorSport Games is looking to build a new franchise with the IndyCar Series for racing and gaming fans alike. With its bold vision for its racing brands, IndyCar’s style of open-wheel racing will help bring an entirely new fanbase as it expands its franchise. The last time that an IndyCar game launched was back in 2003 when it came out on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. The racing simulator had a decent reception when the game was being developed by Codemasters. Since then, not another game has come out of the series but thanks to Motorsport Games, here’s hoping the IndyCar Series gets a second chance. They will be competing with other franchises like Forza, Gran Turismo, and F1, but it looks like they will be getting some time to get to work on rebuilding their line of games.

Look forward to seeing the NTT IndyCar Series when they launch in 2023.
