It looks like India is making serious efforts to embrace electric transport and making electric vehicles mainstream. The Department of Heavy Industry has proposed a major call to interested companies for setting up electric vehicle charging stations in various cities in the country.
So, coming to the prediction round. Out of 8 cities with more than 4 million population, 5 cities will be selected and about 250 charging stations can be expected in those cities. For cities with over a million population, 20 cities will be chosen from a much wider list of 45 cities. 10 cities will be picked from a list of 20 cites in “special category“ states. The rest of the EV stations will be constructed on 15 cities from a list of 30 cities.
