The upcoming film is directed by Matt Reeves and features Robert Pattinson stepping in as the caped crusader. The trailers have promised a dark, gritty, and brutal interpretation of the character and have certainly done their job of getting fans excited. The IMAX previews are taking place on March 1, 3 days before the nationwide release of The Batman on March 4. While everyone will have an opportunity to see this film in full IMAX glory, these previews will allow a select few who got tickets to see it in advance. “Be some of the first fans in the world to experience The Batman on the biggest screens possible,” the IMAX announcement for the previews read.
In addition, audiences that attend the preview will also receive a free comic book of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s Batman: The Long Halloween #1, featuring an exclusive alternate cover inspired by The Batman. This is in line with the film as Reeves has spoken about how The Batman is inspired by comic book storylines like The Long Halloween and Batman: Year One. in an interview with GQ, Pattinson spoke about how the film will lean heavily into the detective themes associated with the character.
A Batman detective story should be fascinating as it’s never really been done in-depth on the big screen. The Batman also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffery Wright as Jim Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
