Developer AntiMatter Games are just getting started with their upcoming FPS, IGI: Origins. It is a prequel to the 2000 original game with Project I.G.I. The new title was initially announced in 2019. Fans will experience a “re-imagining” of the franchise with a modern take on the shooter genre. To do this, AntiMatter Games unveiled the first gameplay trailer for IGI: Origins that blends risky stealth with clean cinematics.

The Cold War is Still Brewing Trouble in IGI: Origins

This new title will explore the IGI (Institute for Global Intelligence) and its beginnings. You play as Michael King, a SAS-turned MI6 agent sent on missions to infiltrate the enemy in their own ways. Indeed, players can go in loud and perilous or quiet and stealthy. We’ll be diving into a dangerous world where the foes have their eyes on starting another world war.

As aforementioned, the IGI: Origins gameplay trailer exhibits the choices that can be made in the game. Coupled with several cinematic shots, the gameplay explores what can happen in a firefight. Of course, we can always stick to the shadows if intense action is to be avoided. Be ready for war when you take a peek into the official footage.

For the uninformed, IGI: Origins is evidently the prequel title to 2000’s Project I.G.I, which was followed up with 2003’s I.G.I.-2: Covert Strike. Both games were developed by Interloop Studios, though they did receive mixed reviews. IGI: Origins aims to bring new and veteran players who are looking forward to fighting in the Cold War in 1980.
