Over the last month or so, we’ve been introduced to quite a large roster of playable characters for the upcoming Hyrule Warriors and they just keep on coming. It wouldn’t have been a major surprise if a new character was revealed in this week’s Famitsu, but the shocking part is that we not only got one, but three new playable characters revealed this time.

One of the most likely fighters to be in the game has now officially joined the roster with Sheik. Considering Sheik has been a prominent part of series like Super Smash Bros. in addition to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it isn’t too surprising that she is joining the lineup. The question will be whether she is actually Queen Zelda or another version of Zelda, considering the crazy continuity in this game.

The other two revealed fighters are following the same trend as Sheik, by being from Ocarina of Time. While the images show off Sheik in Famitsu, the text reveals that both Darunia and Ruto are being added to the game as playable characters. This is quite the update at once, which now pushes the lineup of playable character to ten.

Darunia now joins Link as only the second male character to be playable in the game, but I’m sure we will have more revealed in the coming weeks, as the game is set for release next month in Japan, with a release in the US set for September 26.
