Those who wanted to, but weren’t able to get into the tech test for Hyper Scape might be getting a nice surprise on Sunday. A new report by eSports analyst Rod Breslau claims Ubisoft is set to launch an open beta right after the Ubisoft Forward event later today.

Hyper Scape, set to eventually launch on PC, Xbox One and PS4 was revealed on July 2. The developers doled out codes to some of Twitch’s most popular streamers right after the game was first unveiled. Those who watched the streams had a chance to get their own codes to join in on the testing of the newest battle royale title.

One detail that was left out of the reveal was when Hyper Scape was getting a full release. Now Breslau is saying the release date is very close.

sources: as I previously reported, Ubisoft is planning on launching Hyper Scape to the public today in open beta shortly after the Ubi Forward presentation https://t.co/OvQ7yWHMSZ

Some might dismiss this as someone on Twitter rumor-mongering. It’s worth pointing out Breslau was the first to spill the beans that Hyper Scape even existed. In his original report that the game existed at all, he reported it would go wide on July 12.

The day is here and the Ubisoft Forward event is just hours away. The good news is we’re going to learn fairly quickly whether the insider is two-for-two.

If Hyper Scape does go live, either with a full release or an open beta, it could mean Ubisoft is giving viewers of their special event a couple of gifts on Sunday. The launch of the Battle Royale is speculation at this point but we do know that people watching the event can get themselves a free copy of Watch Dogs 2 on PC.

It appears all you need to do to get that game for free is to make sure you UPlay account is linked up to the event either on the company’s official website or Twitch.
