Hunter x Hunter author Yoshihiro Togashi opened up about a concerning health update and its effect on the current publishing manga.  The update was given on his Twitter account to his large and loyal fanbase. N0t only had he posted a stretch of blank pages for the past week, but he has also been directly addressing his ongoing health issues.

On Saturday, he initially tweeted, “My symptoms are not improving, and my treatment and recovery have been taking up a large amount of my time.” Later that evening, he updated fans once again by saying, “I’ve done one frame. I can’t put strength into my right hand, and I’m in pain.” Monday evening, he then wrote that the work is progressing on a clean copy of the script.

The Hunter x Hunter manga has been on hiatus since November 2018 due to the author’s ongoing health issues. It had previously returned from another hiatus in September 2018 but then went on break again in April 2018. At the same time, Yoshihiro Togashi has been very transparent with his health issues and manga to his fanbase.

The 2011 anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter is available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll. Togashi’s other series Yu Yu Hakusho is available to stream on Netflix as well.
