Humble Games is arguably one of the best indie publishers currently out there, standing alongside such greats as Devolver Digital and New Blood Interactive (for two completely different reasons). Having published such fantastic games A Hat in Time, Prodeus (with the game currently in Early Access), Project Wingman, and so many more, they’ve cemented a strong legacy for the publisher’s future. A few days ago, the publisher gave us the pleasure of getting a glimpse into what’s in the pipeline, including a rather surprising one for those who enjoyed Xbox Live Arcade’s indie classics. Without further adieu, Humble Games is happy to announce that it is publishing Monaco 2, a sequel to the classic Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine. Check out the official announcement trailer below!

How Does Monaco 2 Differ From the Original?

Monaco 2 isn’t just a sequel title, as the game plans to upgrade from its pixel art 2D environments of the original to snazzy 3D spaces equipped with plenty for players to do. Not only that, but an AI will help ensure that your experiences are varied and full of unique challenges for both you and your friends. That’s right, the same co-op you knew and loved from the original is back in its original glory. Plus it’s seeing some upgrades, including a whole host of new rogues for you to take on and enjoy with their various playstyles.

As of right now, the sequel to Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine is set to debut on PC, though it’s currently in early development. While nothing has been confirmed or denied, the game may come to other platforms as well. If you’re curious about the future of the game’s development, be sure to check out the consistent development streams over at Pocketwatch’s official Twitch channel.
