Yesterday (September 27), Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman announced Wolverine would be in Deadpool 3, but now they have more answers (not really). In a joking video posted today on social media, the Merc with a Mouth and Wolverine actors sat down to deliver some “answers” as to how Logan is returning after his death in, well, Logan.

In yesterday’s announcement, when Wolverine was confirmed to have the actor reprise the role for the third film for the fourth wall-breaking hero, we also got a date for September 6, 2024. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, who has directed other films with the leading star on Free Guy and The Adam Project. He is also known for directing and producing Stranger Things, which has seen him direct some of the most popular episodes like Dear Billy from season 4. The third installment will keep its R-rating from the previous entries and be written by Bob’s Burgers scribes Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin.
We don’t have an actual confirmation on what to expect from Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3 regarding its plot. The original plan was for it to be a road trip movie between the two characters. By the time the movie releases, the MCU will be deep into the Multiverse Saga as it hurdles toward its next two Avengers films. Maybe a road trip movie can still happen, but with a multiverse twist. Anything can happen in the multiverse as we have had John Krasinski as Reed Richards and Ultron getting the infinity stones.
