After a prolonged absence from the Indian smartphone market, Taiwanese tech firm, HTC, has re-entered the country with a new lower-mid-range handset called the Wildfire X. The device comes with decent specs for the price, so it will be interesting to see if it will be able to reestablish the company as one of the names to be reckoned with in a market dominated by the likes of Xiaomi and Samsung.

The HTC Wildfire X features a 6.22-inch HD+ (1520 × 720 pixels) display with a teardrop notch. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, and comes with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable by up to 256GB with a microSD card. Other hardware specs include a fingerprint scanner on the back and a 3,300mAh battery with 10W charging.

The HTC Wildfire X is being offered in a singular Sapphire Blue color option, starting at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB + 64GB model, while the 4GB + 128GB variant comes with a price-tag of Rs. 12,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting August 22. Launch offers include 500MB of data per day for 18 months and Rs. 3,750 worth of cashback from Vodafone in the form of 50 coupons of Rs. 75 each.
