Design
The HP Omen Vector wireless mouse is not necessarily the top of the “best-looking mouse” list but looks are not everything, right?
This gaming mouse is completely black in color with OMEN in a gray font at the bottom front of the mouse with a diamond shape directly above it. The RGB lighting is going to come through the scroll wheel and this diamond shape. There is a textured, rubber grip on both sides of the mouse and a total of 6 programmable buttons. Finally, there is a DPI toggle button just below the scroll wheel.
Battery Life:
One of the biggest claims from HP is that this mouse is “the world’s fastest USB-C charging gaming mouse” and that is not a bad feature. The battery life for the Omen Vector is up to 180 hours (with a full 90-minute charge) and the best news comes when you find out it can be recharged in minutes with the USB-C charging cable. You will get approximately 1 hour of life for every 30 seconds you charge it!
Performance:
With the Warp Wireless Technology’s 1ms polling rate, the lag is minimal to none. So, those who are worried about losing performance with a wireless mouse should be encouraged by this feature.
The response rates are very good, as well, with the Omron switches which are almost always reliable.
Omen Command Center (OCC) Features:
With the Omen Command Center, you can customize and control a number of settings.
RGB Lighting can be customized to be static or have animations and there are a lot of options with 16.8 million colors. This will control what lighting will show on the scroll wheel and the diamond design on the top of the mouse.
OCC also controls settings such as the polling rate, lift off distance and acceleration. DPI can be customized as well. It also gives you the ability to enable and disable turn angle and the LED DPI Indicator.
And, of course, you can program the 6 buttons with custom macros.
Pricing:
The cost of the Omen Vector Wireless Mouse is typically around $100.
Verdict: HP Omen Vector Wireless Mouse
If it is an exciting look you crave, this might not be your best bet. But, if you want a wireless mouse that you can charge and play very quickly, has minimal to no lag, has speedy response times, and feels fairly comfortable on your hand, this might be a great choice! And the price is not outrageous either!
