HP Omen 27i Features and Performance:

Design:

The HP Omen 27i gaming monitor is not terribly flashy however, I found it to be sleek in a couple of ways.  First, if you wanted to use it for something other than gaming and still use all the features, it would fit just about anywhere.  However, the red design, the LED lighting, and the logo on the back do make it appear to be more of a gaming monitor.

The back of the monitor is designed nicely in a diamond shape which is different from the typical across-the-bottom design you find on various monitors. From left to right, in the bottom part of the diamond shape, you’ll find the following ports: Audio output for headphones, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.0 Upstream x 2, USB 3.0 Downstream x 1. Each of the ports is labeled very well.

Another great feature of this monitor is the three-sided micro-edge to provide a wide viewing experience and with two of these monitors side by side, it makes the space between them very minimal.

Finally, for ambiance, you’ll find LED lights in the diamond shape which I really liked.

HP Omen 27i Monitor Resolution/Refresh Rate/Performance:

This monitor offers the Nano IPS panel technology with QHD 2560×1440 resolution giving the user amazing DCI-P3 98% color reproduction and wider viewing angles.

With an NVIDIA G-Synch validation, a refresh rate from 144 – 165Hz, and a 1ms response rate, games displayed and performed very well on this monitor. It was equally as good when performing more general tasks such as surfing the internet, doing office work, watching videos, and more.

The two things some users might find lacking about this monitor are the absence of HDR and sRGB mode.  It’s all in what you prefer!

How much does the HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor Cost?

The cost of this monitor is a little steep at around $510.00 and can be purchased directly from HP or through any other retailer that sells monitors.

Verdict: HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor

What is not to like?  Maybe the price?  Overall, this monitor brings amazing resolution and refresh rates, a great viewing experience, and some of the best technology available!  A couple of things that might be a deal-breaker for some is the absence of sRGB emulation mode and no HDR.  But, the bottom line is that despite the price being a little higher than I typically want to pay, this is a very nice monitor!
