SEGA’s newest Netflix show, Sonic Prime, is set to make its official debut inside of the Roblox Metaverse with help from Gamefam’s Sonic Speed Simulator. No stranger to the Roblox platform, Netflix plans to host a launch party for the series, complete with free UGC items, event-themed minigames, and more. This launch party, along with the debut of Sonic Prime, will begin on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 9am CT. To learn more about how to view the premier, continue reading below.
How to watch the ‘Sonic Prime’ premier on Roblox
Though Sonic Prime isn’t set to hit screens until December 15, 2022, Roblox players can attend an early and exclusive screening inside of Sonic Speed Simulator for free. This screening will show episode one of the series, and allow players to participate in various Sonic Prime-themed event activities before and after the premier, including exploring the newly-added New Yoke City Tag Arena.
To participate in the fun, fans must create a Roblox account and join the Sonic Speed Simulator experience before 9am CT on December 10, 2022. If you’re new to Roblox and aren’t sure how to get started, that’s ok! We’ll break it down for you in the guide below.
How to make a Roblox account
To create a new Roblox account, you’ll first need to head to Roblox’s website or open the mobile Roblox app and look for the create an account button. If you don’t see this button on PC, look for the gear icon in the top right corner of your screen and click it. From the drop-down menu, select create an account.
You should now be prompted with a screen to enter your birthday, username, password, and gender preference. Fill out this information and press sign up when finished. When creating your username, be sure to make something up—do not ever use your real name when making a username online.
After clicking sign up, your account will be created and you’ll be taken to Roblox’s home page. Depending on whether or not you choose a male or female gender preference upon signing up, Roblox will create a basic avatar that resembles a girl or boy that you can customize later and change to your liking.
How to join a Roblox experience
To find the main page of Roblox experiences on PC, click Discover from the bold menu at the top of your screen. On mobile, press the play button in the bottom menu. Here, Roblox will display experiences in categories, such as Most Engaging, Up-and-Coming, Popular, Top Rated, and more.
As you play through experiences and find ones you like, the Discover page will automatically adapt and update your Recommended for You category accordingly. To join an experience, simply click on its icon and press the green play button that appears on the experience’s launch page. You will be transported into the experience in just a few seconds.

That’s all there is to it! Once you’ve created or logged into your account, simply join Sonic Speed Simulator on December 10, 2022, and await the event to begin. If you aren’t able to join by 9am CT, that’s ok—the episode is set to repeat every 45 minutes until December 16, 2022.
