Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed gives a heavy advantage to the Ghost by allowing them to fly. Ghosts can frequently evade capture by floating over a balcony, potentially leaving Ghostbusters behind to take the stairs. Unless, of course, a Ghostbuster has a V.A.D. (or Vertical Ascension Device). Wouldn’t be a Ghostbusters game without one more silly acronym, would it? Here’s how to use the V.A.D in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.

How to grapple using the V.A.D. in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

The V.A.D. is essentially a grappling hook that will allow you to quickly rise to higher floors. Players have to use designated points, frequently found on railings. In the screenshot above, there are two grappling points: the bold green triangle and the muted green dot directly to its right.

The green triangle in the center is highlighted because the player’s indicator is pointed towards it. When highlighted, you just need to press the button indicated inside the green triangle, or the button next to the V.A.D. icon in the lower right corner of the screen. After a quick animation, you’ll be lifted up onto the other side of the railing to continue your Ghost hunt.
